gajun is the child of prophecy and sunwoo is also a time looper, and this is his 12th (and last chance) to change things because gajun kept dying in his timeline. in gajun's case, its still his 11th try and he still has 1 chance left. basically they found out that link (the villains) wanted to sacrifice the student with the highest potential to make their wishes come true (i forgot their wish) and initially, sunwoo had the highest potential, even reaching three digits, but he sacrificed all that and minimized it to 12 so he can have 12 chances to save gajun. all of this happened before gajuns regressions.
alot of stuff happens and everyone dies but they eventually get revived because their souls were returned to them. the yaoi part happens after that.
apparently, sunwoo was subjugated to gajun. he can use his power "obedience" in other people to control them but he can use obedience on himself only ONCE to subjugate himself to another person. and that person ended up being gajun because... drum roll... he liked him since a long time ago. thats why sunwoo was so compliant at gajuns request and he's so quick to protect him because its inadvertently the effects of subjugation. i dont even think its an exaggeration to say that if gajun wanted sunwoo to kill himself and jump off a building in a backflip, hed do it. not that gajun would want that but yeah thats the reason why their souls are entangled to one another and he whole time loop fiasco happened because sunwoo couldn't stand losing gajun
