I picked it up, dropped it, and then picked it up again. I’m enjoying it more now that the relationship drama has settled and it’s focusing on the advertising industry. It was really annoying waiting for chapters while the characters were doing the “will they, wont they” dance.
Now it’s pretty decent
I like it for the fact that it's a fun read and the ML is pretty open about his feelings for the MC and it never gets TOO serious but there is a tiny bit of drama. I think it's worth it
If you ask me, I’m loving it. It’s really healthy and handles conflicts between different mindsets and lifestyles very well. It shows two people in a relationship deciding to be “us vs the problem” instead of “me vs you” and that’s RARE in BL in general but also I almost all forms of media. I think the only famous fictional couple I know who does that is the Addams. The conversation flow is really authentic, the art style is nice, the sex is good but not too much that it’s porn with a side of plot and it just feels very balanced. I know others have been annoyed by MC but personally, I never was. I’ve worked with similar coworkers to him despite different fields and I can say I hold a huge amount of prejudice for anyone who has the same job title as those shitty incompetent coworkers. It’s pretty normal to form prejudices based on experience and it’s actually quite healthy to do so since it means you’re actively avoiding unnecessary stress wherever possible and understanding yourself better. The thing with prejudice is that it’s based on limited world view and when someone comes along and proves the prejudice is false and that one person was dick not the whole lot of them, you have the option to change your opinion or to double down. MC changes his opinion but still keeps his guard up against pricks in the field. Again, super healthy outlook on life. ML helps him broaden his world view and MC helps ML. It’s a great partnership.
TLDR: I liked it but I can understand why some people found MC annoying for a bit (although I personally don’t)
I completely agree with this ^^^. I feel like this couple actually feel like two adults who want their relationship to work instead of two people who cant communicate for the life of them. It's so refreshing and something I havent found a lot in other stories
Right? Most BL feels more like two teens in a first romance or one childish x one mature. It doesn’t really feel balanced. The only balanced yaoi I’ve found are stuff like this or literally old man yaoi (45+) and those are the greatest treat any author can give us because almost all of them are amazing and soft and cute and healthy!! But yeah, it’s mostly one person doing all the work and the other one there for the ride or both are screaming that they don’t know how to drive the train but they’re actually on a boat lol
