i agree on the part that they didnt sleep together fully cuz yesol said his ass didn't hurt, plus the fitness watch thing was explained due to them travelling to and fro. Hanrim has crossed boundaries but i doubt it was in the matter of being touchy?. Sorry but when did hanrim SA yesol? its been a while since i read it but i don't remember that happening?
No, hanrim didn't SA yesol, clearly shows in the flashback that hanrim didn't want to sleep with him because he was drunk but yesol insisted he was sobber and they did it. That's why he was hurt, not only because it made him feel he forced him but because he likes him and didn't want to make it superficial. That's why he repeated he didn't want him to forget
respectfully, there’s nothing to be conflicted about or even addressed because it’s incomparable to anything Taeyoung has done. Yesol’s alcoholism is significant specifically in Taeyoung’s plotline because he is actually aware of the problem and took advantage of it, It doesn’t extend to the situation with Hanlim since he just reunited with Yesol that night so he didn’t know how bad his alcoholism was and even then, it wasn’t forced or anything even if it was definitely irresponsible.
Taeyoung has done worse but just because hanrim is less touchy doesn't mean it erases what he does, also although I see your point about hanrim not knowing abt yesols alcoholism based on the dialogue in ch21 and him asking him stuff, I don't think that nullifies it because yesol was clearly super drunk in the moment and he was passing out multiple times, and that's evidence enough that he's not in the right headspace. if yesol had instigated the kiss and hanrim was swept up in it then it would be more ok, but it was hanrim who initiated knowing yesol was in that state. yeah it's irresponsible and not forced but yesol was clearly too drunk to consent so it still makes it SA. hanrim is also a bartender (drunk ppl saying they're not drunk is like a cliche) + he said he doesn't deal with drunks so he should know better. I don't think Hanrim kissed him because he actually believed yesol when he said he was sober, he kissed him despite yesol being super drunk.
I mean SA has levels (r*pe is way worse than a forced kiss for example, but both fall under the umbrella), but I understand the tension against using the word ig, it's between dubcon/noncon for me.
Also I feel like yesol did act drunk? like him throwing the socks and clothes at hanrim feels like very drunk behavior and even if he was sobering up a little, he was in such a terrible state before that it wouldn't make sense to believe that he sobered up (esp cuz hanrim is a bartender and has seen how much yesol drank). also he said he "doesn't deal with drunks" so he recognizes his behaviour as drunk, so even if yesol said he's sober I doubt hanrim believed it (drunk ppl say that often).
Also, Yesol's reaction to kisses in ch19-20 when he's sober is very diff from ch21, so at least it's clear to us as readers that he wasn't rlly in his usual headspace.
I think yesol already goes through enough with taeyoung's harrassment so getting more dubcon/noncon from hanrim is like... someone treat yesol properly please he is capable of love and he does deserve better (despite what taeyoung wants us to believe). Either way, I lowkey don't trust hanrim rn I think he's lying abt some stuff but I'd love to see a redemption arc for him that's executed well

I'm still conflicted abt the kiss in ch21 (I still don't think they slept together fully) and I'm kinda worried about it not being addressed properly. There were a lot of parallels between Hanrim and Taeyoung so I thought the story was trying to demonstrate how Hanrim is better than him and is the CEO of consent but nvm... I like that he's twisted but I want him to be better for Yesol. I also realize he has other issues going on (especially based on what I peeked at in ch23) but since Yesol's alcoholism and Taeyoung's SA plotlines are pretty significant, shouldn't they extend to that scene? Hanrim also gets mad at Taeyoung's antics even though he also ended up crossing boundaries (but hanrim is a hypocrite sometimes so maybe his rage is also self-directed). Also thinking about how well The Eve Festival handles the topic, I trust yagguk cuz she always holds characters accountable (characters get a "they're not justified but they're forgiven" treatment usually) but I would like to see the fact that hanrim SA'd yesol getting the repercussions it needs. I see them having a crashout/breakup or parting ways for a while (a yagguk trend) but if it's gonna be abt something else or abt hanrim "overall" without specifically reflecting on the SA then I'll be a bit disappointed.
