I'm not sure the full installation but based on what I've seen, Chiara is actually pretty good at installation pieces rather than painting pieces (I haven't scene what Yamaguchi sensei has decided for her paintings).. but one of the main jobs of installations is to invoke thoughts and feelings.
I'm not a fan of the ball of string (or yarn?) but the watch installation is great. It satisfies the main 2 things I learned about installations: - Thought: Why use watches? Why this layout? How can I display this? Is it worth it? What emotion am I feeling.. (even "I'm confused" is a worthy thought for an installation piece).
- Feelings: confusion, feeling of dread like you're running out of time (because of the watches surrounding you no matter where you decide to look at them from)
All in all, from what I've seen I really like the installation pieces Tsubasa has decided to use for Chiara! And from a painting or architectural standpoint, it's really cool how the dislike for Chiara is portrayed because it's a fact that Chiara is making money from artwork and installation pieces that look like zero thought has been put into it. Compared to paintings where composition is one of the main focuses and architecture where structure and integrity REALLY matters, the dislike for her installations really does make sense!
