The cost of a uterus.

This might be weird to say but seeing them talking about periods and menstrual costs weirdly makes me happy.
I know more than anyone that it costs a lot just for the mistake of having a uterus
An average bleeder spends at least $20(usa) a month and $18,000 in a lifetime
That's an average cycle not considering health conditions.

In 2025 in USA there were 3,612,012 births and if we take the average cost of childbirth it would be $21,000 for every single birth so at least all together it would be $13,041,252,000 give or take. Imagine that! Wanting a kid and living the "female" dream of having a kid and it's the cost of an apartment for a few months.

Now let's talk about the health issues of having a uterus! I have endometrosis, pelvic congestion syndrome, PMOS and suspected adenomyosis which all of these are considered a "period" thing and affects me every single day and gets worse when I have my cycle so I tend to go though heavy duty pads In under an hour every hour. That adds up every single month especially considering how common all these conditions are.
Now let's add on to the fact I had surgery! Let's be specific here diagnostic laparoscopic surgery for Endometriosis which on average for JUST the surgery costs somewhere from $5,000-$25,000 without insurance, now Endometriosis is a tissue similar to the lining of the uterus that grows outside of the uterus and it has been found in EVERY SINGLE ORGAN in the body and causes the body to be in 10/10 pain that feels like you are being burned and stabbed constantly.
It takes 7-10 years on average to diagnose.
That's 1 in 10 people with uterus's.
That's common.
Not to mention the obgyn visits the pelvic floor therapy, the ultrasounds, the MRIs, The ER visits and more
All because you have a uterus.

It adds up all for being born with an organ over half of this world has, so if you know someone who has a uterus give them a hug because periods are definitely not just a menstrual cycle but a financial burden and a strain on their mental health. If you are someone who has a uterus then give yourself a big hug and know that you're not alone!

Thats the end of my hate filled rant
