The love rival is really selfish. Yes, she wants the ML to be happy, but who says he will be with her. Also, she hasn't even considered the FL position if she was supposed to divorce the guy, like could you be more selfish. FL, as a noble, would find it very hard to remarry after getting a divorce, and she can't even go back home because of her shitty family.
