The grandpa got attacked from behind after shooting Sami's grandpa ((the greeting dog)).
Atp the greeting dogs had been chased off, and when Rentaro collapsed that triggered the escort dogs to attack.
I almost teared when Shiro's backstory came up. Dude, he was a little kid, eaten and abducted by monsters! But I didn't get how he became an Escort Dog though, he was eaten by the Greeting Dogs, so how did he become an Escort Dog? Did I skip a panel?
Anyways, I love them sooo much!
