Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and I see this same pattern in straight stories too. You guys ship heterosexual characters with the same gender in straight stories and everyone laughs, but the moment people do it in a yaoi, suddenly it’s a problem.

I agree with some of your points, but not all. I believe the same standards should apply across every genre. If people say you can’t ship straight pairings in a yaoi story, then that same rule should apply to straight genres too. And if it is allowed, then it should be allowed everywhere.
It’s not like someone shipping a pairing is going to erase a character’s identity anyway. Bisexual people exist, and interpretations can vary.
