Im gonna start with ML, MC was handpicked by ML's father as a way of courting MC's mother and the placement occured 4 years ago and the ML does have prior knowledge that MC's mother is seeing his father and is very much aware that his father intends on marrying her. I'm not going to criticize that ML developed feelings for MC, feelings develop, but its the way he acted on it that made this whole thing messy. Had he truly been honest about his feeling instead of all, "I tamed him to my tastes, he'll realize, I'll make sure he comes back to me" bs, none of this would have happened
ML claimed that MC asked him to be his bedmate, but in actuality, its the ML who suggested it. MC was feeling bad that he hooked up with his boss and perhaps looking for a way to put this behind and suggested that they should take it as mistake and chalk it up as curiosity but its the ML who insisted MC to be in this relationship.
But the worst thing he did is, using his parents relationship as a way to tie down MC. Remember ML knows that MC's mother is going to marry his father and he kept objecting his father's marruage knowing that once they got married, their relationship changes into brother, but when MC no longer wants to continue it, he immediately agrred to marriage and used it as excuse to coerce MC to keep silent as he clearly knows MC wants to oblige his mother's wishes. Its not love, its obsession.
MC on the part, doesnt voice his opinion clearly, yes its due to his childhood and his desire to keep peace and all, but had he strongly objected early on, he wouldnt have gotten into this mess or if he voiced his desire openly that he likes him, he could have easily navigated the relationship but then again, he's the victim here, ML used his indecisiveness and his anxiety and his situation to his advantage
4 years he said, did he said that to MC that he truly likes him? Did he communicate this to MC, he did it too late. His actions certainly are ambiguous causing confusion. While I dont really like MC's mother (She failed to protect her son when it mattered), I do agree that this relation doesnt feel like it lasts long (but unfortunately, its bl so noooo, all it takes is a BIG LIGHTSABER, I LOVE YOU and all is forgiven and suddenly its all la la land)
