It's become a series of subplots and side stories where he is constantly hiding his power and identity.
Yea and I don't like that... I read these for the power fantasy, really. I want to see the cool powerful mc (male or female!) to be cool and powerful...
Technically he's kinda doing that in this new "tower with game mechanics" plot, but he still got heavily de-powered and has to "build up his strength" once again while climbing the tower...
At this point there is no real continuity in the overall story, and because he is always hiding his identity and power, my interaction with the story is essentially that I am reading a series of disconnected short stories with different MCs in the same universe.
The most boring arc is actually after this one.
Can't say I'm enjoying this tower thing. First there were god knows how many chapters of a school setting where he was hiding his power. Now there's another "side story" like plot in a cliché death game tower. (Yes I do get they're not actually side stories) And it's been going on for so damn long...
I want the story to go back to how it was in earlier chapters...
