This whole chapter just rlly showcased how stupid the ml is. Like how could u think she had any other reasons to escape, OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT UR DAD HOPED SHE WOULD DIE, OR E EN THE POSSIBILITY OF HER GETTING KILLED???? My god, the author rlly loves that damn duke. They would rather make the other characters look dumb, just to save his ass.

Honestly, I haven't finished reading it yet but u can try reading it .. but just stopped thinking. Immediately. Love the art, and I love the concept. The ml is a green flag(idc that he doesn't like the fl going near any men, but he doesn't hurt her, I like that shttt.), but the stupidity is just.. insane. I feel like the author fell in love with the duke or something, everything is just stupid.
Ehhhh I can see why he said that. 1. Hes in shock from learning about the plan his dad set 2. I mean for years he thought everything was fine so learning about how she was planning to escape for years probably hit him hard 3. Man he literally was bamboozled by information that turned his life upside down. Like the person who literally changed the estate for the better basically left him and he can’t feel betrayed cuz it makes sense. He thought they had a great relationship and now thats also being crumbled cuz apparently she knew from the beginning which means every moment w him she knew that she would leave, so of course he’d be frazzled about that. There were other options, she could have told ml and he def thought there was enough trust between them for that.
And about the duke, I say it was an out of sight out of mind thing. Cuz he obviously cared about her. So he might of tried not to think about it, which is illogical but hell he’s a bit insane. Def is forgiven too easily, the grandaunt was the only one who reacted as she should’ve.
That's still lowk stupid, cuz the duke is literally the ml's FATHER. Did he think any logical thinking person would trust him...??? After knowing that his dad is trying to kill her, and is replacing her with someone else?? So yet again, rlly showcased how stupid the ml is. It's kinda selfish for the ml to think this way... Did he want the fl to be stupid or something? He was wayyyy too butthurt and making up reasons as to why she left, than his own father trying to use the fl, and potentially killing her lol
And yeah, I agree with the grandaunt, tho I don't rlly like her anymore when she defended the Duke.
Bro, at that moment, his wife ran away, left a letter that led to him learning he was terminally ill and now isn’t, that his dad was trying to bring his mom back to life, and that it meant fl would have to die, that it is his dads fault, fl had to live knowing the duke was banking on her death, and that every moment that he thought they would live happily ever after fl was dealing with that and planning to get away, and that basically his happiness will never come back. Thats alot that happens in one moment. And he isn’t blaming her when he asks himself that. Judging by how he reacted to her doing this, he probably is wondering if all the time together he thought she was happy, she wasn’t, and that’s also part of the reason she ran away. At that moment, he basically was told his life was a lie. Him reacting how he did isn’t being butthurt, it’s just reacting to something really bad.
Like give him some grace. He was dealt shock after shock and isn’t even blaming her. Not once did he think that she was in the wrong. In fact, he took steps to make sure that it wouldn’t become a nuisance for her. He didn’t rush into conclusions and literally begged her and communicated.
The duke is the one solely at fault. Both fl and ml are victims of it. Don’t forget that the duke was basically gonna use ml for his plan.
If ur gonna call anyone stupid, it’s the duke. But literally one comment from ml during this whole situation (which can be reasoned to mean something else ur suggesting) does not mean that his reaction was being butthurt and stupid.
