so real gurl we're the only ones serving cunt here it's so embarassing when people just don't get what they were saying. (@Jxxxxx user). i really liked that they pointed it out and now people are jumping at them but they don't wanna address why the stereotype is like that.
I don't think the comments below me understood what that particular comment was saying, I guess because is worded a bit poorly and maybe English is not their first language (i had to read the comment and their own replies a couple of times to really grasp it), They didn't say that they had a problem with uke being a virgin or that they wanted the uke to fuck around as well.
That person is right, most bottoms in BL be it manga, manhwa and manhua, are always a virgin and the top experienced, as if its some kind of sin for the bottom to have had sex before, (and before it really was, when the bottom was experienced people wrote comments like slut but never directed this sentiment to the tops) and this is because most of these works are written by women for women and doing a parallel to women, we've have always been shamed for being sexual or showing interest in sex, the men (in this case the top) is supposed to know everything and take it from us.
They're writing from the perspective as women, not men, notice how the bottom was almost always smaller, feminine, soft and no hair on the rest of the body (shaving is something that is always expected of women, gay men too but not as much depending on the preferences) and the way they act are sometimes very reminiscent of how women act. I said was because from a couple years till now we've been getting more mature bottoms, they look like adults, taller, sometimes even beefy, and even the smaller ones sometimes are NOT the stereotype of a woman but in male.
There's very few stories here that actually reflect a relationship between men, how they act, express their feelings and of course have sex loool.
This person concerns are valid, they made the comment under this work because is what they were reading at the moment, there's no need to take it to heart lol.
I've always noticed these things as someone who has been reading BL for 16 years, I just never really discussed anything about it because it was just so common that I didn't even want to bother with the conversation.
But another very biiiig thing I have to say? I don't mind these clichés as long as the storie has an ok plot, just enjoy your reading ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
