Uh... Manieri doesn't like Alto that way, right? He couldn't stand Elva at first because Elva was like super brainwashed by the church (like to do his duty and to conduct yourself).
I don't think that Manieri arc was useless. It showed that these outsiders really want to save the Kanagi. Also, Elva learnt sth from Manieri too.
Brah I wrote a comment already but it got deleted. Anyways I freaking hate Manieri I dont understand why they couldn’t just let him die. He’s childish and whiny and somehow jealous of Elva even though Alto was never his to begin with. It didnt really add to the plot either we already knew Alto could heal stains. I just hated that whole arc, how the healing was thrust onto Alto without his say, how he sometimes neglected Elva. I was just deeply unsatisfied with Alto’s behavior and Elva had every right to be jealous, my poor baby. Alto, why cant you be a man and say no sometimes? Or be a man and show your affection for elva in front of manieri to show that you’re only his? Alto is also sometimes foolish and hotheaded and I disliked when he hid his heritage from elva. If you’ve been together for 8+ years you can’t even trust that Elva will still love you? And Konoe pmo too with not telling them Mika was the killer. Honestly, good on Mika for killing the nobles. All those fuckers who put their hands on the kannagi deserve to die. Im not fond of reading about SA especially children so docking a few points cus of that. For me this story is still 7.5-8/10 cause its concept and plot are unique. Just mostly everybody aside from Elva pisses me off.
