Here's the thing. Ecchi doesn't have to be inherently dehumanizing (I've read a few manga where despite the girls having big assets, they aren't zoomed in on constantly and the girls are allowed to act like normal people), but it's almost always done fucking poorly. It's such a turn-off to see this girl walking around in nothing more than her underpants, and the reasoning is just... it's too fucking dumb. And as a non-pedophile, the panty shots of a prepubescent child are anything but arousing. I hate the way so many people portray girls in manga. There is a complete lack of respect. And then people who dislike ecchi will turn it on the girls and call them stupid instead of acknowledging that they are manifestations of the author's stupid preferences
