I absolutely love it when stories (mangas in particular) make comedic moments that seem like a throwaway montage relevant to the plot. Like the hair bursting through the roof was enough for the gag and we could've just ignored how far it went. But unexpectedly, it reached the heavens which triggered Michael to visit.
