I hate that he is screeming at her so much dammit. She is fucking traumatised, come on can’t you be a sweet husband for once. I get why he is pissed but that does not justify violence ...

You can’t expect him to be calm about it. Everyone’s emotions were spiraling in the heat of the moment. Maxi was pouring out her emotions through tears, while Riftan, as her husband who had just witnessed that horrible scene, was channeling his emotions through his words, which, of course, came out loud and intense.
That’s honestly a very realistic reaction to a situation like this. And if you know Riftan’s character, you’d know he has never been a calm person, especially when he’s angry, even with his subordinates.
The important thing you are ignoring is that his anger isn't even directed at Maxi, but at himself. They were both yelling, crying, and finally communicating their raw emotions to each other, and honestly, I think that’s a good thing.
No one should be expected to stay calm in a situation like that

Thank you, at least someone understands my point and the way I interpreted this scene. It feels like some readers are shifting their focus away from the bigger picture just to nitpick something else entirely.
Mind you, the real monster in this story is her father, yet somehow most of the anger is being directed at Riftan, as if he wasn’t the one who nearly beat a man to death for hurting his wife and immediately took her away from that place.
People are so focused on the fact that he raised his voice that they’re ignoring the context behind his emotions and everything that had just happened in that moment

Fr most of the other comments were all full of ager towards Riftan when he did nothing wrong he’s only human its not like emotions can b switched on n off he was just as emotional after witnessing tht scene cuz he always believed she would b fine n be protected by her family she never said anything n after witnessing tht scenes I find tht he kept his cool more thn expected in a situation like tht and the real monster is the dad but no one says anything about her father but somehow everyone is being so negative about Riftan being just as emotional as she was she was hurt but so was him after realizing the situation she was in and how he didn’t even know anything n feeling incompetent its only normal to react like tht

Well said. I don’t know why some readers can’t just sit down, take a deep breath, think properly, and analyze a character beyond simple dislike.
Criticism is fine, but at least try to consider the full situation, the characters’ emotions, and the context behind their actions instead of reacting purely based on bias or personal feelings. A character doesn’t have to act perfectly to be understandable or well-written
