Are they black or just tan? cuz from what I've read on those I wouldn't describe any of those characters as actually being black people lol and I feel like if someone is looking for black representation in a story, it wouldn't really be those characters.
I think at most they get described as "foreign" and nothing else points to them being black other than tan skin
If I'm wrong please correct me and show me but idk I just dont think those characters can be used as black representation

that's what I recall off the top of my head with love interests that are explicitly Black.
generally, if you want to see melanin in bl, the grand majority of the time the options are:
~exotic~ racially ambiguous/nebulously middle eastern/Pacific islander (rarely, the character's ethnicity will be specified),
or east Asian and artificially tanned (gyaru style),
or east asian and tan from being outside all the time/athletic,
or occasionally east Asian and just naturally darker/tan. I can share some of those, too.
