Enjoying this as a silly smut story

Teh smut's good and the story is melodramatic but ok for what this is, Ryohei makes no sense to me tho. Like it's established early on he has fuck buddies, why does he feel the need to hold onto Makoto when there's no implication that he cares for him in any way that doesn't involve sex

In alot of narcissistic relationships the narcissist tend to hold on to someone for the pure reason to have control over them. They like that they have the power over someone, which you can see in the chapter where Ryohei says to Makoto that he has to please him since he loves him. Ryohei doesn't understand love as an emotion, but as a tool to control and manipulate someone, to make them do what he wants. Ryohei has been manipulating Makoto all this time to make him think Makoto is the one in the wrong, which is seen when Makoto runs away and still blames himself for Ryohei to act like that.

Ryohei also sees himself as superior to Makoto, as he think it's okay for him to sleep with others, while Makoto can't. He uses Makoto to have the sense of control and power, to make himself feel like he's better than everyone else. A narcissistic trade is often that they actually deeply feel like they are worthless, so they manipulate others to feel superior in every way, to make up for that.

This story is basically the textbook example of what a narcissistic person can do to someone.

Ok, I wasn't thinking of giving the author that much credit but it def makes sense.

I find the plot of the story to be a bit odd, but the characters are great written in my opinion, they are well rounded and I think the author actually put a good bit of research effort. But I also see why some people don't like the story, especially if they haven't connected the dots of Ryohei being a narcissist. Because all they see is someone that apparently hate Makoto but still wanna keep them around, which doesn't make much sense in the simple way. But that's exactly what a narcissist do, they don't view people as people, but as objects to own and to manipulate. I have done alot of research on this matter, because of a few odd friendships I have had in the past, so I often easily spot these things ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
