unfortunately that's pretty common and that's why I think people shouldn't be allowed to have kids unless they take a course on how to raise kids and get a license first (and that license should be renewed every 5 years). People take parenting too lightly...
I relate to him so much having parents that gave your older siblings more praise and attention. I was never a strongly academic kid, I had my challenges but they took that as me just being lazy and irresponsible, so now I have a terrible habit of never finishing or trying hard to do things with an “it doesn’t really matter” attitude. Or even when I try, I’m lowkey a sore loser when it doesn’t work in the end. Hate it but unfortunately I’m not sure I’ll ever get over it
