I feel like you would appreciate Taeui’s character more in the novels since the manhwa cut off a lots of his inner monologues and his dynamic with Ilay is very complex and unique it’s like they humanise but dehumanise each other at the same time
Was in my TBR for the longest time, but I decided to binge read all 133 chapters over the last three days bc I wanted to read Raga (not expecting that the Raga prelude wasn’t going to be until dang near chapter 133 itself g). Just wow. I like the fcked up flavor of psycho ML that Ilay is, especially starting at ch 100, seatbelt OFF who the hell is driving this bus. Genuinely never know what to expect from him. Conversely taeui is an interesting specimen as well, he takes everything in stride and is relatively more level headed than most bottom MC, which is nice. His bullheadedness is endearing and his crash outs are valid. I will say, as much as I find xinlu interesting, his makeover was so random LOL. straight up did not recognize him on the beach, I can’t imagine what that chapter must’ve been like for people who were caught up at the time
