Kneeling on one knee, leaning toward him, Josh spoke, "Why did you do it?"

"Why did you try to die again?" Josh asked once more, staring at Chase, waiting for an answer. He could wait as long as it took.
But he didn't have to wait long. Chase finally
opened his mouth.
"If I die, will you cry?" His voice was quiet,
unsteady.
Josh replied, "Yeah." He whispered the words softly, "'Il cry a lot."
..." Chase fell silent again.
Something felt off. Josh lowered his gaze to
check his face-and froze.
Chase was crying.
...Chase."
"I love you." Chase's voice trembled. Then he bit his lower lip, breath shaky, holding back his emotions. Josh simply watched.
Chase exhaled again before speaking.
"Don't go to her."
..Her?"
Josh forced himself to ask. Still dazed, he stared at Chase. Chase steadied his breathing before speaking again.
"I overheard it... That you have a child. That you've been waiting for the mother of your child."
Josh stiffened. He hadn't expected that. His
hesitation made Chase misunderstand.
"You said you weren't interested in men. So that woman must be an alpha, right? And you... you gave birth to that child." Chase's voice cracked.
"The scar on your stomach... It's from a C-section, isn't it?"
Josh couldn't say anything. Chase's words
poured out relentlessly.
"Choose me."
...
"Not her. Me." His voice wavered between sobs and desperation. "Please. I'II do anything. Anything you want." His voice broke into a raw, heart-wrenching sob. Hearing it, Josh couldn't hold out any longer.
"Sorry for making you suffer." Josh pressed a light kiss to his lips before speaking again. "Let me introduce you to my child."

I cut as much as possible and just put the necessary dialogue to summarize it.
But it is the part where Chase will know Pete is his. And the scene that leads it. Apparently Chase put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger with the thought of self-exiting. Josh tried to talked him out of it but Chase said “Too late” and pulled the trigger, good thing Josh was able to grab the gun and the bullet only grazed Chase’s temple (yes the gun went off, Chase really was trying to die because he thought Josh and the mother of his child is getting back together.”
