Not condoning this, but you COULD say that you used Grammarly to help with clarity & flow of sentences, along with the correction of grammar.
This is because the way Grammarly works is that it oftens shortens/rephrases your sentences to make it simplified. Therefore, it does alert ai when it goes through detection.
However, depending on where you attend, the use of Grammarly or other resources similar may be prohibited. So good luck and don't rely on ai too much.

Will never condone ai cheating especially as I personally sit as student representative on my colleges honors council where we look often over cases of ai cheating.
So instead of advice I want to calm u down on the general process that almost all schools follow, even online. If ur just going to just fail the class I’d take it, don’t even bother dragging it out I’ve seen it get 100x worse cause of it. Instead mediate it with your professor and just take it and make sure they don’t report it to the higher ups so it doesn’t go on your transcript. I’ve heard previous students say that to do this a. You want to have an incredibly kind professor who can understand moments of weakness b. Showcase u did at least do the learning and show up with a revised version and to ensure zero ai usage a reliable source is gpt-zero. And overall just get lucky.
If it ends up going to the higher ups you’ll most likely be given a “court” date where you can appeal and compile a case to prove u didn’t use ai. I’ve seen some horrendous evidence cases while yes, we understand ai detectors are not reliable, that cannot be your only source of evidence to essentially win an appeal you have to really show you did the work. Which included citations you made (best used if they are time stamped prior to the essays submission), history of your document, prior essays with this writting and grammer style, etc.
In essence, good luck and please don’t use ai in the future!
