To clarify how I see this story, I’m assuming Noizu and Chris in the beginning are friends, Noizu obviously having a crush on Chris. Then Rizeru is introduced. Noizu and Rizeru have very different spots in the hierarchy. Chris says he sees Noizu for who he is making Noizu think he matters. Noizu see’s Chirs and Rizeru kissing, Noizu impersonates Rizeru and does his duties as President of the student council perfectly. Rizeru confronts Noizu and they both fall out the window. Noizu wakes up looking like Rizeru and when (real) Rizeru is being buried Noizu walks away with Chris in triumph.
I’m so conflicted with Noizu, I wish he stayed swimming in his inferiority complex instead of just killing off his brother. Honestly it’s a shame, saw someone trashing on Noizu but obviously he did Rizeru’s (forgot his name ) job as council president perfectly. It’s clear the only reason they're treated different is because of their clear contrast in personality. Sure, Rizeru deserves the praise he gets if he truly put in the effort to fuel his ambition but it’s clear they trash on Noizu for absolutely no reason just to compare them.
Absolute fuck Chris, would love to see him get absolutely ruined in life. I’m so hung up on the situation with Chris specifically, he seems earnest and kind but his deception was a nasty betrayal that ruins his image for me completely. If he didn’t have feelings for Noizu and was already dating Rizeru, he didn’t need to go out of his way to deliberately make Noizu felt seen by him or make him think Chris saw him as something special. Noizu’s treatment is completely just unfair, Chris leading him on doesn’t help either. I’m definitely on Noizu’s side up until the identity theft. Rizeru knows how his brother is being treated and seems to even almost dislike his brother. Maybe Noizu is just meant to be a lazier and less likable person in the setting of their world but that feeling of injustice just keeps growing with everything stacked up. I was so onboard for the angst of Noizu trying to end it but when he switched identities it just became pathetic for me.
Noizu switching identities felt like such a waste of potential for the story. Having him manipulate Chris into feeling the same as he does for Rizeru or even impersonating Rizeru to do something with Chris and then blackmailing Chris would have been better and less pathetic than fully taking Rizeru’s identity.
That whole ending just felt like such a loser win, “Haha I win cause I threw away my entire self/self worth because I have no confidence I could ever change how people view me or ever successfully get with Chris without taking the identity of the person he loves.” It feels so so very pathetic. How I wish Noizu was a truly deranged and psychotic person who would plan out a lovely and detailed plan to steal everything from Rizeru and ruin his life (in the context of this very fictional and very not realistic story I don’t genuinely support things like that I just really like the angst of it all.) instead of taking such an easy way to get to such a lackluster position.
I mean, perhaps for Noizu that’s fulfilling, taking over someone else’s life completely, the life of someone who had everything he wanted and living with the achievements they have, the lover he wanted, the praise and attention he wanted. I can see the perspective that Noizu taking over Rizeru’s life and identity IS the ultimate win since Rizeru isn’t there to compete anymore, Noizu has all the prizes in the end, I just can’t shake that feeling of disappointment and dissatisfaction at the ending turn. It would have been so much better with a different build up, different circumstances but same dilemma. Shame, shame, shame that Noizu is content being a loser who isn’t even successful as HIMSELF, he’s only successful as his brother.
I’m too obsessed with the twin one now (´༎ρ༎`)
