The story is being prolonged for no reason
Etienne is purposely prolonging that because he knows his 'usefulness' to Crocetta is over once she gets the ring. It's partly why she ran away in the first place.
Why can’t she just stay with the crown prince and get the ring already? She keep coming back and hanging around with other male leads. It’s so annoying.
