what prompted this post was bc of a subreddit of a web novel that i loved but nowadays the utterly degenerate posts there, along with the casual homophobia (fxf and fxmxf is fine for them but not mxm or mxmxf), genuinely make me question if there's something wrong with me for even liking the same novel. like i cant wrap my head around how they are grossed out with fujos when they themselves are so blatant with their own fetishes
literally idc about the shipping but some people in the subreddit of a webnovel im in constantly feminize the male protagonist into a femboy or woman and ship them with other female characters in the work. or genderbend a male side chara into female to ship with the male protagonist. or even genderbend a male side chara of a mxmxf trio into a woman, so the male protagonist can "enjoy" both women in a threesome. it's especially common in the sub bc of the novel's power system, but anyway, it's frustrating how they cant see a ship as valid unless they can get hard to one/both of the characters. i mean, some fujos can be problematic, but they're not as blatant with their homophobia without any self-awareness

i truly dont get men who think fushojis and mxm ships are gross until one or both of the characters genderbend into a girl and now they like it even tho the essence of the characters is the same
