The ML is hardly likeable and he's also pretty annoying: interrupting her mission because he's jealous of a horse? Wtf, he finds the woman drinking, accepts her drunk advances even tho he's totally sober, and then tells her she needs to take responsibility, as if she isn't the one who was taken advantage of. I'll not even start with the general, popping up all the time, too jealous, too clingy. All his family was murdered, his legacy robbed, he was beaten an treated like shit, but none of this matters because he became infatuated to a woman at the age of fifteen. If the emperor had a little bit more of dignity we'd be far off in the story. Carlos suddenly realizing he's attracted to Rue is stupid convenient.
Whatever, I'm staying for the story, but had to let it out of my chest.
