I really think that seeing minyoung top would be PEAK but many people aren't ready to understand. And I totally agree with you, furthermore bottoming is such a huge strain for the body so it would be perfectly healthy if they switched. And I am saying this as someone who used to think inside the box and fitted to heteronormativity reflected in homosexuality. But I no longer believe that there should be specific roles to relationships in general. Nonetheless I won't deny it takes a lot of "getting out of your comfort zone" reteaching your brain to not stick to prejudice and preconceptions
Like and honestly cheol doesnt even mind bottoming its just that bro tried to force in no prep and too much pain can indeed make u sick. Its def cute how he bottoms for cheol even tho hes a strict top otherwise so why not cheol do the same for him too once a while its really just a thought nothing more. I dont even mind strict top bottom truthers but they seem to mind a lot whenevever u mention a couple could switch. theres like basically 5 manhwas at best exploring switching so acting like switching is smth with negative effects when its not even done most of the time is crazy.
If you do not understand what im speaking of when 99% of bl comics are strict dynamics then theres no need to comment on it, there are also very obvious stereotypes surrounding what kind of characters are tops and what kind kind of characters are bottoms. You dont even know the difference between a vers and a switch.
Never even being open to exploring a switch couple makes u inherently heteronormative. I am not saying strict tops and bottoms dont exist but switches exist too there shouldnt be a negative bias specifically towards that.
Also stories do not exist in a vacuum unaffected by real life mindsets and ideas, most bl writers are non queer non men so ofc their approach to a couple will be heteronormative.
Im just saying theres no need to act like preferring strict tops and bottoms in writing has anything to do with some higher intellectual reasoning, people call this setup "tradyaoi" when u bring up switches and why do u think they do that? Why do u think they say they arent "woke enough" when people suggest switches? Cus they dont want their hetero projection to shatter.
Also Im speaking on the lack of switches and a severe negativity towards them, which is never seen happening against strict top/bottom dynamics in fiction. Everything is a preference but when the readers prefer something over another as if they have any say in what a couple does isnt the same case of preference as a real life couple who themselves choose what they wanna do.
Im specifically speaking of people who read yaoi and dog on switches not gay people themselves choosing not to be switches. Theres a huge difference.

The earth will be a much better place when people look at switching as smth that adds rather than takes away from characters, ofc if the characters themselves dislike it then thats their thing but the push for strict roles is so hella heteronormative coming from readers but what can u expect when the readership is cis straight women who read as though they r "consuming a product" than watching two depiction of humans that do things. Even if they role reverse thats not the end of the world they can reverse again, thats the point theres all the freedom and sexy poses to explore. I can never understand the hatred for switching and even more so when the character have a non convenientonal dynamic.
The same way people can have opinions about how they should switch or how they shouldnt cuz well at the end of the day its a story but acting like a diff kind of intimacy will ruin things and they have to be in a strict set position really shows u care more about how they fuck than who they are.
Theres just no need to act like ur some higher intellectual who understands this comic better than anyone else just cuz u want them to stick to YOUR preferences.
