I do agree a lot of character who are alphas expect Mc team are literally too much and overstepping boundaries. It’s hard to not to see how the Mc dislikes/ resent not being an alpha. His autonomy is just disregarded because he’s an omega and identity is tied to someone else. Even ml asking for a kiss and promises after everything he did makes my stomach turn…
Exactly. And because his autonomy is being disregarded, he is disgusted with himself for not being an alpha and feels the need to literally beg for Su-ah's stuff to feel validated (correct me if I'm wrong abt this). And on top of that, because Juhyeok feels disgusted with himself, he doesn't hold Su-ah accountable long enough for his actions. He just... lets go of it after he storms out of the apartment. And correction for my original post, Su-ah needs to do a bit more than a bit of groveling. He needs to do a lot. And just because you're acting all cute and fluffy (talking to Su-ah, lol) doesn't erase the fact you weren't respectful and considerate of Juhyeok's boundaries. Like, why are most Alphas like this? This is a genuine question I've had since I started reading smut: like, why do the authors like to make their characters suffer in this disgusting way, especially the ukes? Okay, I guess one person here and there having this rape fetish isn't that unexpected because there are going to be people like that, but *everyone*??
Sorry, lol. This is a rant I've been broiling over for ages now.
I'd say that inconsistency and lack of holding suah accountable are issues you can attribute to the author and not necessarily the characters. juhyeok doesn't hold suah accountable because the author wrote things that way to get to the next story development (smut scene) faster. you can kind of infer that juhyeok has a soft spot for suah despite how he avoids him and it's explicitly said in the bar scene that juhyeok still has feelings for suah, but it's all very underdeveloped and unsatisfying (to me at least) because there's not so much screentime given to juhyeok's pov/internal state that explains those contradictions well. and I would argue that those contradictory thoughts/feelings/actions are the result of an author railroading the characters (juhyeok in particular) to hit the story beats they want instead of taking the time to develop them in a way that feels natural. everything is set up so that suah gets his way and has his image softened enough that the audience will forgive and accept whatever he does, while juhyeok's very reasonable and legitimate reasons to be upset and reluctant are downplayed and undeveloped/unexplored because it gets in the way of smut happening quickly.
You are totally fine for your rant lol. Cause it’s true cause even the “other ml” isn’t even a good choice. This crazy old man trying to buy out this kid he met during his heat??? Now you won’t leave him alone cause what? I would never date an alpha if that is case. I also think that even if the Mc did find a way to not be dependent on the ml, that wouldn’t change the attachment ml has. So ml would just ruin any other relationships the Mc has or end up making Mc dependent on him in some secretive way. WHICH LITERALLY ALREADY DONE BEFORE!
I honestly think ml need to drop the act fr fr. Because we gain nothing on him trying to be cutie toward the Mc and totally indifferent to everyone else. I want everyone to see how unhinged and delusional the Ml is. Ml isn’t a good person, I think he was maybe in the beginning, that obsession is reason for that. I just want them to separate indefinitely and see how ml spirals. Then he’ll finally let the Mc go. I’m not looking forward to the idea of them being together at all. Cause I know if they do it’ll be because ml did something irreversible.
I also think this story would be more interesting and satisfying if it was honest about and embraced suah's negative traits and the harm they cause instead of brushing his pushiness coercion, and manipulation off with scenes of him being pitiful and justifying it as all being in juhyeok's best interests in the end. the tone of the story is only as lighthearted as it is because it takes none of the issues and conflicts it raises seriously.
on its face, this is a romantic comedy, but it's really a psychological drama thriller with a side of body horror.

My take on these characters:
1. Juhyeok is really cute and sweet... but he needs to work on himself a lot. He doesn't need an Alpha to be happy, and he doesn't need to be an Alpha to be happy. I'm literally gonna throw a fit if he's not happy or gets raped again, because MY GOD.
2. Su-ah... yeah, there's a lot he needs to fix. He's too pushy, and even if Juhyeok wanted his... ahem, he shouldn't have gone as far as he did. Like, that's *rape*, sir. Stepping over someone's boundaries without their permission is *rape.* Period. Juhyeok clearly said several times during the sex that he wanted Su-ah to take it out. He still might be able to redeem himself by starting over with Juhyeok, but he should grovel a bit.
3. Finally... I feel like even though the ahjussi's definitely less pushy than Su-ah... don't touch Juhyeok. I don't really see Juhyeok appreciating it.
P.S. This is just my opinion, so if you have your own, that's fine. This is just my opinion (coming from someone who reads it on and off because I'm pissed at a *specific* character.
