I’m glad he’s using his own experiences as a child to understand his own child. That’s what most parents lack these days. When my parents forced me to do something I didn’t want to do or when they hit me or got mad because my grades weren’t straight A*s, they forgot that during their own childhood, their parents did this and they hated them for it. My dad hated his parents for treating him like that so much that now he has nightmares about it and he’s 76. My mum hated her parents for doing this so much she ran away as a teen and eventually came back. She’s now doing differently with my 4 year old sister but it took me screaming and hating her and her getting cancer for her to understand she can’t do this. She doesn’t want her kid to hate her during her final years. And that’s something parents don’t realise until the very end. I’m so glad he’s learning while ichika is still a toddler because that means that he will be building good papa habits of introspection before pushing something on his kid. Also, very good on him for asking ichika why he didn’t want to go in and not punishing him for it. I see so many parents physically dragging their child along the road to get their kids places and it’s a daily occurrence. It’s nice to finally see good parenting represented!!
