No problem and I agree. I like the idea of this(love the sports aspect) but most authors just want to abuse or just hurt one side for the sake of drama and tension. And then when it comes to the fall out of said drama(facing their mistakes, explaining their actions, showing their growth and repetence) many authors like to gloss over that part and immediately get to making up and being lovey dovey. In the novel, the hurt is addressed, but was the lesson rlly learned? Not rlly. Its just that the top liked him now, so he regretted it bc of that liking and the fact that things werent working out in his favor anymore. Not necessarily cause it was a wrong to do, but bc of who he did it to and now he likes the person he did it to and wants to be with them, if that makes sense? So not much change. Its not terrible tho, just can't expect much.
Yes it always feels very voyeristic. Pain just for the sake of suffering. Just to cause heartache. It does not lead to anything at all. By the end of it everyone is at the same place they started in the first place.
I also did not like the bottom's selfless attitude towards the entire ordeal, just cause he is a good person doesn't mean you owe them favours at the expense of your own well being.

He is tbh. And the bottom basically stays that selfless and giving. Like he tries to seperate, but gives in at the slightest pressure(The bottom makes up his mind to leave, but changes it when the top puts pressure on him workwise and guilt tripping using his health to force proximity after the breakup.). So the chasing had little meaning. Id say read it for the pretty art if u want but the bottom stays selfless and the tops is still pretty selfish.

The art is good so I went to read the novel. I'd say its ok. The groveling was kinda skimmed over and the top is rlly selfish. Like truly selfish. He does have a reason for his actions but it all leads back to selfishness at the end of the day. He improves and realizes hes wrong, but dont expect too much in the way of chasing or the bottom standing his ground. Even at the end, I felt this guy kept getting smth for nothing and didn't have to put much effort into anything. Hes not the worst, but I could never like someone like this. As long as the bottom is happy ig.
