Nah it’s pure narcissism, she basically said Etienne is an extension of herself there at the end, she’s trying to achieve her own dreams vicariously through him
This shows she was created through a cycle of using others in her household regardless of how they felt, which in turn created the monster she is today.
Also, she wants to believe she's better since she's not pimping him or like her family was, but instead she's slowly killing him. Crazy work
Personally I believe she treated him that easy cause she wanted power as she hated how she gave her family the power but wasn’t in control of it and she wanted control hence she wanted to be the mother queen but just got triggered in that moment about etienne getting pregnant
