I think its pretty starightforward. Elis an assassin that was trained to kill the king. Eli gets close to king king fall in love. Eli betrays king. King is still alive because ig hes different from normal humans. King is now obssessed with finding eli. Eli wants to kill king again to get rif of his coworkers curse and to finish his mission. Its pretty straightforward?
I think they are trying to come up with a plot but , this whole story doesn't make a sense.
