They perform a phycological evaluation plus getting info about the new soldier's life, and because many sad things happened to him (lost his mom to cancer, father's accident, had to stop school due to poverty etc) they believed he could be suicidal (but he isn't)
But his mom is alive in the show. Is that a change they made or does she die later on?
I think they swapped it. In the manhwua his dad is alive and his mom is dead.
