It seems like the kang family even threatened the og soul that if he doesn't sacrifice himself, the uke's past life will be the one getting tortured instead so yeah I don't get the hate towards him

My theory is he probably promised something (which probably freedom and love) to mc and broke it cuz yk he got kidnapped and tortured and stuff. And MC probably hate him for breaking that promise and hate(lovehate) him for not telling mc anything about some conflict and lastly mc hate himself because he unable to do anything (thus the deep anguish and despair).
