I missed to add but for noble families, more children meant more bargaining power to pimp them out and marry feels nobles or higher ranking aristocrats. Also because prenatal health was dog shit at this time, lotsa babies were yeeting from the mortal plane so yeeee I'm adding these a well since these transmigration stories take a lot of inspo from the European nobility and timeline and loosely replicate the beliefs and attitudes of that time. I'm gonna nerd out!! But this era's procreation plans don't really follow our modern definition of love and family and the purpose of making babies so making lots of children at the time were either out of obligation to get a male heir, religious pressure, extreme fertility at the slightest freaky ahh behavior or you have a nympho for a partner with crazy libido abusing you on the side as a baby maker. There was no concept of contraception or family planning so commoners operated with the mindset of more kids more free labor which is ??? Cuz that meant more mouths to care and feed for which trapped them in a vicious cycle. In Lulu's case as a noble, it could've been the first few reasons but the Phaeratons don't seem to consider themselves religious or concerned about societal expectations and Lulu's mama readily let go of being head of her paternal line when she and Lulu's dad linked up so ye, Lulu may be out of pocket but her words check out lol. They probs made the children out of their own version of love and were genuinely happy so good for them even if it was short lived.
