Idk if you guys have noticed this too but it feels like when reading most bls especially the new ones, it feels like the villain or the new character who just stirs stuff up between the main characters always has some sexual or romantic past with the Mc. Idk why but it irks me so much cuz why can’t they make the villain just be someone who doesn’t have that kinda of past with the main characters. This mostly happens with Korean BLs but it just pisses me off and for some reason a lot of time the mc seems to have no boundaries with them even though they are in a relationship. I don’t know but if I was in a relationship with someone, I wouldn’t want my bf to be okay with their ex being around and disrespectful of our relationship but that’s just me

No, same. I'm just generally tired of the ex that comes back to stir drama. The lack of boundaries is super annoying especially if the break up was bad. If the ex is surprisingly handsome and drawn well, I think authors want to capitalize on that "love triangle" tension without putting in the work. Unfortunately readers tend to like ex's who are did horrible things as long as they're hot.
