LN spoiler clarifications - link to audiobook for proof

beep May 24, 2026 10:53 am

wish i could upload the pictures of the literal LN book page to this site for the people telling others to "read the LN there's no mention of that thing at all" but i can't. so if you have the omnibus LN vol 7 think about what he's asking for because he doesn't say it explicitly but it's obvious. the slave trader even tells him no.

next best thing: this audiobook video on YouTube that is a robot voice reading the entire volume so you can listen to it yourself and see how you feel

https://youtu.be/cAD0AN0Ujx8?si=kyOjdJ5A33WgNi76

the talk begins right at this timestamp: 3:25:36 but the weird part starts at 3:31:55
or on YouTube its called: Light Novel | Isekai Light Novel | Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Volume 7

spoilers/summary below you've been warned.

clarification:
mukohda does NOT buy an actual sex slave. he does not say the words sex slave either.

but he tries to get one and that's my problem with it. he is looking for a slave and wants to get a 'cute girl maid who also does "that"' (this is written in the LN you can't disprove this).

he genuinely attempts to use being in a fantasy world to own a girl slave who he can do "that" with. that power imbalance is not something a modern person should be okay with.

then when he gets shut down (refer to my old comment), he then tries again to have cute girl maids (regular ones) in his house. and then he finds out he can't get that either (wow bummer) so then the author makes these two slave families (and their kids) almost all cry and beg Mukohda to buy them to keep their families all together. and then he is like damn i can't ignore this and so he buys the two families and then buys some combat slaves as guards. and that's it, he accepts he now owns slaves and just brings them to his home.

it's only like a few pages, but it just gives me such an ick. it tells me that his character will continue to act like this in small moments. he will do the "right" thing but nothing that makes a real impact. and my personal gripe is why is slavery even in this work? just cook. just have regular servants. just use magic contracts. there is no need for more background characters whose sole job is to glaze and paint mukohda as this modern-thinking and kind savior when really he's got no backbone

That's pretty weird but it would've been a whole lot better than a slave arc
