He wants mc to love him first then make him suffer then kill him cuz he actually hates him cuz of what happened in the past but it doesn’t matter cuz we gonna get a happy ending eventually
ML loves MC (same as he did in the past), he's just deep in his despair after betrayal, ML wants MC to love him, so he can kill MC later to die himself, because as the prophecy says, only the blood of someone who loves him can kill him (end his immortality), this is his revenge he's so focused on for now
