Theodore’s redemption was done well.
I mean, from his point of view, it makes sense. All his loved ones died, and he only has his aunt and a friend. He feels guilt and resentment against the Everette’s who took his family, and then his aunt, who he trusts, shows his proof that his wife is conspiring w them and insulting his loved ones. I mean, the aunt got a handwriting mimic, so it wasn’t unbelievable.
And w the paranoia and stubbornness and being surrounded in an environment where he feels pressured, he doesn’t make healthy decisions, which is common.
Hessen grew up in a household and basically had a devil of a father and a psychopath of a brother. That heavily influenced his character and as he figured out that it was wrong.
They both were influenced by people around them. And lily had no one to protect or advocate for her, except her personal maid.
Ig I’d say Theodore is more redeemable cuz he had a skewed perspective of who lily was, and everyone who he trusted backed it up. That’s what influenced his actions. Hessen might have been born into an evil environment, but he knew the truth of how lily was and still acted like a bully to her. Sure, his father and brother also were like that, but he actively tormented her. Theodore neglected her because he believed she was a bad person.
I liked how both of them repented. Ofc Hessen died before he fully repented, but Theodore actively worked hard and respected lilys wishes in order to make up for what he did. He wasn’t possessive over her, and accepted that if she left and never forgave him, he would wish her the best forever.
At the end of the day, I feel bad for lily the most and Theodore the second most. They were handed a poor set of cards, lily more so, and suffered.

*sigh* i feel like Hessen was more redeemable character, maybe more than the ml? He just had the misfortune to grow up in that devils household. I feel kinda bad for him.
