My take on the story is that, yeah, it was entertaining, right? Like it’s was well drawn, I guess, well written. But the problem is the writing. What do you mean, on the 1st chapter, you have Euihyun out here trying to drown his younger brother? And even in this situation, I do very much feel for him and empathize, because if you really think about it, his life was garbage. His life was bullshit. His life was terrible. Sometimes you really get pushed to the breaking point. Think about how crazy his life was. Like, I'm not defending it, but think about how crazy his life was. If I was in that situation, I would have kms if we're being honest.
On top of that, right after that? You have Taeju, a damn loan shark, messing with him. Bro is assaulting him, taking advantage of the fact that Euihyun is broke, down on his luck, and you gotta go through that for how long? Just so you can pay debt? Come on. And at the end, you want to give the debt collector guy a good ending? Please be get out my face. I don't know, bro.
I guess the story is good, but me personally, I cannot just look over assault. That's just something I cannot give an excuse for. And for the blonde guy Taeju to get the happy ending with Euihyun it's like... I don't know, bro. I'm not into it. Maybe it's just me.
This is really slop. Just something you read just to be entertained. Just slop. This is not like a gem. It’s not super amazing, mind blowing. It is slop, period. Entertaining slop, but still slop.

Exactly, people treat the story like it's the Holy Grail. I'm around chapter 60, and just a few chapters ago there were like 5 warnings for sexual assault in a row. I'm still waiting for the redemption arc to see how they try to resolve this mess.
Because the only realistic way to explain the happy ending is Stockholm syndrome.
On a separate note, I have no problem if someone, as an individual, wants to take the path of nahilism, just don't drag a child along. You can jump off the cliff all you want, but don't take people in the passenger seat, because that would make you a narcissistic psychopath.

Yeah I get rlly confused when ppl say this is their fav bl like uh… did we read the same story??? The “happy ending” gotta be Stockholm syndrome because me personally I was sitting there in complete disbelief.
I gotta disagree a bit that it’s taking the path of nihilism though. After all the bs Euihyoon went through, he’s gotta have severe depression, PTSD, literally every mental illness combo pack imaginable. Like there is no way that man is mentally all together by the end.
I don’t really think him taking his child brother along was narcissistic psychopathy so much as it was his trauma and obvious depression manifesting into a murder suicide mindset. Still insanely wrong obviously, I’m not defending him at all. I’m just trying to understand where his head was at because bro was NOT functioning like a mentally stable person by that point.

I'm referring to the internal dialogue he has on his way to the ocean; it's quite nihilistic to me, and the way he tries to justify the child's murder. It's true that labeling him a narcissistic psychopath is a bit much (maybe I've consumed too many news stories about murder/suicide within families, and to me, those people are messed up, no matter what). So, in his circumstances, one could say he's a mentally disturbed, selfish jerk; just because he's depressed doesn't excuse that decision.
