I prefer this type of love rival rather than someone who's out there tryna destroy you, Haneul is a good friend, he's not a perfect friend but he did genuinely cared about MC which is why mc is so soft to Haneul, he's the only friend mc had.
Haneul is just childish and naive, he meant no harm and he did no intentionally cause misunderstanding, he just UNINTENTIONALLY CAUSES ONE.
Hello, little Spoiler here :)
At the of the Novel you will see him again and he will give our MC a little bit of trouble, it’s nothing to bad but it’s annoying and with this action he is showing his true self to all his other Friends.
Haneul is not a good Friend and his antics are all intentionally. He is a spoiled rich brat and he had the heavy Delusion, that the ML only loves him, he never let go of Ideun (ML), because he is the first thing he will not get.

He's not that bad but maybe annoying.
He only causes misunderstanding but nothing more than that, he's genuinely the type of person in love with someone engaged to him (ml)
In the end he learned to let go of ml but before letting go, he really does fight for his love, he's not a bad person, he just childish
Chapter 11 (Introduction): Haneul is first mentioned as a prominent, well‑bred Omega and classmate (turns out to be the same age, 24) of Ji‑an
. He was educated abroad and recently met Ideun. Ideun’s friend Taemin notes that Haneul has all the qualities Ideun’s grandmother would approve of in a husband (young, healthy omega from a good family)
.
Chapter 16 (Confession): After a night out, Haneul stops Ideun’s car to confess: he likes Ideun despite their eight-year age gap. Tearfully Haneul begs for a chance, saying “I like you… I love you” and insists he is willing to marry Ideun
. He protests “It’s not like I chose to be born younger” and pleads “Hyung, can you at least give me a chance?”
. Haneul proposes spending more time together so that Ideun’s feelings might change.
Chapter 18 (Heartbreak at the Bar): Haneul waits anxiously as Ideun fails to reply to his messages but instantly replies to Ji‑an’s texts. Haneul sneaks Ji‑an’s phone to test this and realizes Ideun has been attentive to Ji‑an and will pick Ji‑an up as his “guardian,” not him. Seeing Ideun’s response (addressing Ji‑an as “Are you okay?”) and later answering Ji‑an’s call blows Haneul’s mind
. He realizes Ideun came to fetch Ji‑an, not him – shattering Haneul’s hopes.
Chapter 36 (Desperate Texts to Ji‑an): The next scene shows Haneul frantically texting Ji‑an on New Year’s Eve: “Seo Ji‑an. We need to talk…” and then “Are you busy?...Aren’t you sorry? You shouldn’t treat me like….”
. Ji‑an, reading these messages, observes that “Ideun had no intention of marrying Haneul – not him, not Ideun’s grandmother….”
. Haneul’s texts reveal his anger and hurt but Ji‑an delays confronting him.
Chapter 37 (Musical Invitation): Haneul is said to have asked Ji‑an to go see a musical with him. Ideun hears Ji‑an decline, saying flatly, “I’m not going to a musical with Noh Haneul… If I were to go, it’d be with my baby”
. This illustrates Haneul’s continued attempts to engage the others and Ideun’s cold rebuff through Ji‑an.
Chapter 39 (Confronting Ji‑an): Haneul corners Ji‑an to confront him about living with Ideun. He bursts out: “I like him, Ji‑an. I love him. I want to marry him. My parents like him and his grandmother adores me. You know about the marriage talks…”
. Haneul, voice trembling, admits he’s agreed to marry Ideun and is bewildered why Ji‑an is moving in instead. Later he begs Ji‑an with tears in his eyes: “I really can’t do this without him… He says I’m too young. It’s just an eight‑year difference… Please, talk to him for me”
. He also acknowledges to Ji‑an, “I know how much you love him… I love him too,” lamenting that he “stupidly fell for him” even after Ideun once made his life “unbearable”
.
Chapter 40 (Aftermath with Ji‑an): Haneul breaks down in tears. When Ji‑an gently calls his name, Haneul sobs and says, “In the end, I’ve made you cry… I’m really nothing but a nuisance, aren’t I?”
. Ji‑an reassures him: “It’s not what you’re imagining. Above all, I’m a beta. I’ll move and quit the company… stop crying”
. Haneul, still tearful, presses Ji‑an to act now: “You don’t need more time. I’ll help you. Ideun hyung went out of town… so there’s no reason to hesitate any longer”
. This resolves the immediate crisis: Haneul accepts Ji‑an isn’t Ideun’s lover and is willing to let Ji‑an pursue Ideun.
Chapter 41 (Confronting Ideun): Haneul’s father and grandmother accompany him to demand marriage with Ideun. In a tense meeting Ideun bluntly refuses: “I have no intention of marrying Chairman Noh’s son… not me, not Grandma. She has someone else in mind”
. Ideun says he would rather see “your elder drop dead” than obey that match. Haneul cries out “Hyung!” but Ideun coolly leaves with Ji‑an. Afterward Ideun coldly explains to Haneul’s father that Haneul is “a probationary employee” at his company and “nothing more” – so Haneul’s name “won’t be on the guest list” at any wedding
. This final rejection crushes Haneul: ideologically he accepted the match, but even Ideun and his grandmother spurn him.
Chapter 42 (Memory): Although Haneul himself does not appear, Ji‑an recalls Haneul’s caring words in a dream: “He’s thinking something has changed… Let’s cherish this moment forever, just the two of us, untouched by pain”
(referring to a moment Haneul had urged Ji‑an to treasure). Ji‑an also notes in passing that Haneul was joking “about how close we were” when suggesting they go to work together
, indicating Haneul’s playful affection for Ji‑an. This underscores Haneul’s gentle side and lingering presence in Ji‑an’s mind.
Chapter 56 (Later Mentions): In a final reference, Ji‑an recalls who reacted to seeing him with Ideun: “Haneul, who had wept and wailed,” along with others like friends and Ideun’s grandmother
. This implies that, at least in memory, Haneul was intensely upset by the turn of events. No new scenes feature Haneul beyond this recollection.
