Well , tbh I'm a kind of person who can't ends up blaming myself and feeling guilty and blaming myself even when it's not my fault... so most of the time it's me saying sorry and trying to mend our relationships even if I'm aware it's not my fault... yeah it's just an unhealthy way of coping I know cuz I'm lonely and scared of people abandoning me , but even if I forgive them , I try to maintain my boundaries and don't share my vulnerability with them ....again it's just me ... if anyone decides not to forgive their abuser , that's actually the best possible decision ever ...but sadly I'm not brave enough...

im curious about what y’all think the purpose of forgiving an abusive parent/partner is. bc whenever i read comments in a manhwa everyone is saying NEVER FORGIVE THEM and repeating all the ways they were abusive. idk y’alls lives but in my experience forgiveness is less about the person you’re forgiving and more about yourself and your desire to move forward in your life with less resentment. there’s definitely use in being angry and setting boundaries but eventually you have to realize the past is not the present nor the future unless you decide to relive it every day
