i found it reasonable. especially when rosa herself chimes in to highlight the dissonance—thirty million won to her is money spent on a toy she wouldn't even look at the next day. but yeonwu suffers at the hand of loan sharks for the exact same price. it serves to really drive home the fact that he is little more than an expensive decoration to suryeon. yet, this chapter also proves something that's been cropping up a lot: yeonwu isn't as helpless as the situation calls for.
Yeah that is why I said it added an interesting layer —Rosa’s bag probably cost more than him but even though he is that cheap she can’t really have him.
I just couldn’t believe someone would get beaten up like that for <=$30k and no other customers offered that for him except Rosa’s mum (cuz come on?) so I thought his debt is atleast $500k or sumn. Like damn my friend owes that much too and all she gets are harassment calls and threats to post her face on social media from the loan sharks lmao.

Wow what shocked me more in this chapter is the amount of debt Yeonwu had was around $20-30k only (it adds an interesting layer tho). Don’t get me wrong that is a lot of money, I just thought it would be MORE considering all the shits he went through from those debtors. Loan sharks are just ughh vile bottom feeders. He’s not even Nate Jacobs kinda debt level and they beat him like he is. Well minus the uhh mutilation.
