Why do they think Hyesung’s obligated to give her his maturity when she left behind his child version behind?
Why do they think it’s okay for Dojin to disrespect Hyesung by gifting his mother a house and paying her living expenses all these years as Byul grew? When Hyesung had to work nearly his whole childhood (no education either), nobody paid his living expenses but him for over a decade.
That’s why we are pissed. But we are too much?
Hyesung’s mother was able to get away from abuse, great for her. But if I was a parent I’d do anything to get my child back, I absolutely also wouldn’t believe the abusive husband’s words that my child didn’t want to see me, I would use resources to get him back. But guess what? She didn’t because she started a new family. She most likely just wanted to see him, but wouldn’t take him or the new family will find out.
I think you bring up a great point about doing everything to get your child back! Perhaps there was a part of her that felt relieved that hyesung didn’t want to see her (very common in cases where the child is a part of an abusive household/product of rape). It’s not that she didn’t deserve to start a new life, but what irks me is the lack of guilt and any sort of self-awareness she had when she met him as an adult… it was all “woe is me” rather than “I abandoned my child, I need to make efforts to reconcile” that burden should be on her rather than hyesung

And yeah I also feel like she was somewhat relieved that Hyesung potentially didn’t want to see her— because I’m not sure how she can focus on a new family if it wasn’t for some relief. Hopefully next chapter with their talk comes soon. Maybe more info will be revealed that changes some view, but for now I’m sticking with this thought. I’ll respect Hyesung’s choice whether it will or not be what I hoped for
