HONESTLY?

It’s actually good if you ignore some stuff.I fucking hate the troupe of “fat ugly old man about to get the sweet pretty virgin little girl” like we could of had a random ass guy trying to marry her who is probably not that great of a person. If you want to push us viewers to just hate the thought of having this girl getting sold to an older man? Fine it’s good it’s accurate. But I’m tired of it. It’s ugly and it feels like it’s going for a certain fetish. We would of rooted for the main couple either way if u had set the marriage up for a random average looking man or even handsome who has a bad personality with the female lead. We would still want her to end up with Theodore but you go write this filthy fantasy of a virgin girl getting sold to an old man. Obviously most of us know what would happen to her the moment she gets married. It’s uncomfortable. I wish these authors would cut us some slack and let us breathe for once. Korean writers genuinely think all women in Europe at some point of time were getting sold to old men. Like huh? COME ON if you wanna write European inspired pieces give us SOMETHING. Same plot everytime. Like it’s hella annoying. Stick to historical Korean history manhwas. They do those way better than European inspired ones. There hasn’t been ONE. ONE European inspired manhwa that I have actually liked ever since I started reading manhwas. It’s same plot. Inaccuracy even if it’s fiction. They get inspired by different eras AND STILL GET IT WRONG EVERY SINGLE TIME. Same female lead. If villainess. She is boring. If sweet female lead she is annoying and let’s the male lead treat her like shit. Ye. But other than that I love the male lead. Obviously in reality this mf wouldn’t dare to say no to marriage. He would of gotten married and still kept the female lead as a lover idk why he is going around saying “forget the marriage” like he wouldn’t have been shamed in reality. But yk. It’s “fiction” so we need to move on. I like their relationship even tho it’s going way too fast. They did it way too fast. If it’s smut nothing is getting shown. At least we could of had some tension some “will they won’t they” the male lead playing hard to get. Instead they start immediately in a relationship. We can already tell he loves her and she is also falling for him.

i totally get you! try reading Your Ryan i think that manhwa is really refreshing. And also coming from someone who grew up reading Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, etc i get really frustrated when i see recycled plots like these. when i finished chapter 1 i was like oh here we go again. But i’d love to see if there’s an actual plot twist that would make this a bit more interesting. Getting a perspective from someone who read the novel (if there’s any) would be great!
