I adore the slowburn and i can relate to Seo Chiyeong's personality (especially his dark moments of being happy yet jealous of his friends moving on with their lives. He was still mature enough to recognise that every person has their own pace and sometimes we may not get what we want). Also, i can already smell the yearning coming from Jang Uigun as well (he was already showing signs of being interested without being aware of it from the chapter in which Seo was drinking with another friend). Jang Uigun is definitely not the best person and he had moments of being inconsiderate towards someone he knew had a crush on him (like confessing his love to his friend right in front of Seo when he could do it at another moment privately. Not to mention that his crush was literally dumb drunk and not in the best condition to deal with it), however he's obviously not obligated to fall for and/or date another person just because they like him. Also Seo himself chose to be close to them, even if he doesn't get to date the person he loves, because he enjoys their company. I've been in this position, i've willingly chosen to remain friends with my crush because for me platonic relationships are just as important and i genuinely did not want to lose this person from my life. Different people can process things differently. And that's okay.
