maybe past regrets, grudges and underlying memories of his past self he cant remember. also if we wanna go down the DID version, the personalities are not him being split apart, its them developing as something he needed to survive, he needed the arogance etc to cope, he didnt have to have it inside of him. his outlet and fear and childishness is stored in one of em, the other 2 probably developed out of necessity
