Yea it's a happy end, atleast in the main story of the novel, seems it ends with their marriage. I'm pretty sure her disease does get her later in the side stories. It's still kindof a happy story.

Good enough for me I’d be pretty disappointed if they made something up in the end to make her live a full life but what she has is precious in itself so I like the bittersweet end
