Only remaining good quality is the secondary couple I like them more than this forced reconciliation it just doesn’t feel right at ALL he didn’t truly regret his treatment of Evangeline and just because he’s “wisened up doesn’t mean he should get away Scott free and force this relationship it’s just extremely weird in my mind and I’m continuing to read this just so I can see the secondary couple get together and their romance because damn I was disappointed with Evangeline
Hate the ending not for anything that was actually good im just not on board making ladi into a damn pedophile how old is phinelle like 11 or 12? I thought 9 from how small she is even then though ladi is clearly past 18 they might even be in their early twenties by that end so it genuinely grosses me out how they tried to spin the ending for ladi and phinelle she’s a literal child and he’s an adult give him somebody his own age and please god don’t force a romance that’s clearly predatory. I enjoyed most of the story outside of that gave me the ick I understand time periods and shit but this is modern day and every story that goes down a predatory route makes me sick because I thought this was a feel good family story even if the daughter has memories from when she was an adult which I don’t beleive to be true it’s not a relationship that should be accepted or feel comfortable about I’m 19 and it makes me extremely uncomfortable even thinking about being romantically involved with somebody younger or older than me over the one year it could be as low as two and it’d still make me feel extremely uncomfortable the same way I get when literal elders try to flirt or slide into dms my personal opinion though because small age gaps I’m fine with to each their own but when it’s a damn prepubescent child and a damn adult that’s pedophilia and a predatory view (︶︿︶)＝凸
Yeah I thought the same, like they were giving the possibility of them being together. And like they have a 7 year age gap and although it’s not a terrible difference. It’s bad because he knew her as a child and they never separated like he was actively in her life. Also they kinda drew her younger than her age so it seems worse.
Yeahhhh that’s just exactly why I feel so uncomfortable about it as a whole it’s sad cause there were good points but it feels so wrong since he would have basically seen her grow up as an infant into a preteen and it makes me gag because I’m around the age I think they were trying to show the boys as but it was just icky but I’m also just a particular individual that always had a rule of no more than a year for romantic relationships cause over or under made me feel yucky or uncomfortable even now as an adult I’m not changing that until I’m atleast 29 or 30 ╮(￣▽￣)╭
It could just be a misunderstanding through the drawings expressions and speech/thought bubbles but there’s never been a moment in a story like this where I felt so strongly that they were pushing a VERY predatory “couple” with an actual kid there’s a lot of creepy ones out there but it’s been clear from the beginning so you didn’t have to read further since the tones were already there despite authors convenient “excuses” for age obscurities this was shown on the last chapters ending which idk just felt odd to me and it seemed like others also felt not right about it but yeah I agree I was just taken aback because I thought I’d finish it and it’d be heartwarming but instead I got an ick and that was new lolヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
