Tbh it's not abt what y'all want for Chloe, it's abt what Chloe as a character wants. She hasn't expressed that she doesn't like what's going on so I'm confused with this mindset. This also might be shocking to hear, but the fantasy of "terrible parent starts to come around and bond with their children" is super common, and I'd like to bet it's one of the reasons we are all here, commenting on this manhwa in the first place.

I'm fully aware??? Sweetie, I've been reading mangas and manhwas for YEARS LMFAOOOOO This kind of trope is very common, and it sucks. Just full on doormat daughters, and horrible father that can be repented easily cuz boohoo the victim, daughter, wants to bond with the horrible dad!!! And ofc, all is well cuz she has forgiven him despite everything he has done. Same trope they do with shtty mls, they gotta make it as if the ml is the only man in the whole story for the fl to go back to. And no, I did not come here for that reason LMFAO I came here fully blind, not expecting anything. But I definitely did not expect how this is another stupid "forgive! OwO" type of story.

But also, I think you should take your own advice and remember what a comment section is all about. I shared my opinion as well. I don't think Coco is forcing Chloe to bond with her family. She is also choosing to reach back out and try to trust them again. She's never forgiven anyone -- not that we've seen, anyways. She has just allowed her family to reapproach her -- and that is strong and brave, and I don't think it should be watered down to the tropes you're describing

The manhwa shows us the duke being fully aware that she is a scheming btch, but his ass still allows her to be there. I'm so tired of MC's being saints, but disguised as someone who is just stupid and is actually just showcasing the behavior of a doormat. I've made the same comments, but if the dad was given a second chance, why can't the villains have the same outcome?? Such as the adopted girl. She and the dad isn't that different, they r both actively hurting the daughter. The adopted girl is scheming to hurt her, while the dad is fully aware and not doing anything. I'm shocked the mc wants them to reconcile, especially since she apparently cares for the daughter.... Cuz wdym??? All for the sake of being a "saint"??? I get that mistakes can happen, but this one is definitely NOT it. Especially since the daughter is very VERY vulnerable and depressed.

THIS sincerely couldn’t have written it better myself people want to assume just because she is open it means she desires to rekindle and forgive them? NOO this girl has trauma and issues surrounding her family because of what has been done to her over years and years obviously she would still take the chance thinking it may play out differently even if it’s a lie or an illusion but if the entire thing has been handled and manipulated to appear that way just for a false sense of happiness and family it’s not authentic and it’s not her real choice just something that was pushed for her to accept belatedly thinking it could cure those complex emotions but trauma and depression aren’t things that can just be fixed with a forced intervention it’s something that takes years of work therapy and safe connections to cope with, this is coming from somebody who has a similar love hate relationship with my blood family I love them as family but can never forgive what they did to me even though I know I can never fix things or find understanding through them even as I get in my 20s my heart still aches for that love and acceptance I never received growing up it’s not something to make her feel better it’s only a way to paint the villains in the story as “redeemable” while disregarding her real thoughts and feelings on her family and the actions how they have affected her. But it’s obvious they aren’t gonna just write about her trying to come through and be heard they are gonna write quick and easy fixes while pretending the complex depth to their mind is nonexistent because they don’t want to think about all the work and strength it takes to get better they just want to write up a quick happy ending where the only one who isn’t truly happy is the one person in this story who deserves happiness and peace it’s sad cause I thought this story was really gonna be a fresh look and the long adorable feel good vengeance journey between past pet and owner and on the way helping them overcome depression but I guess they didn’t want to care too much about properly representing a person with complex emotions, trauma, thoughts and illnesses ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
